This was a fun book cover job for Ellice Lee and Heather Palisi at Random House. The book, called “The Girl Behind the Glass” by Jane Kelley, is about a ghost girl who drives apart the twin sisters who inhabit the creepy old house on Hemlock Road. It was a perfect assignment for me, and I had fun composing the sketch ideas here and going pretty seamlessly to the final image!  Not all assignments play out this easily or are this much fun along the way, but book covers have consistently been my favorite jobs on which to work.

Jaime Zollars' new image for Charity

These are being printed now by Stuart at Vacord in Philly. A straight discharge print on a super-soft alternative apparel baseball T.  This image is from the shop. I’ve not tried to print this way myself before, so I thought I’d have an expert do this one for me.  A few more designs will be coming soon, but I thought I’d post a sneak peek.

I am thrilled to be participating in the “Heads for Haiti” show opening April 10th in Baltimore. The opening is hosted and conceived by Spur Design in Hampden. 100 artists, 100 images of heads, $100 each, to raise $10,000 for doctors without borders. There will also be a poster produced including all of the art for sale for $50.

The 100 artists involved are an amazingly accomplished lot, and the prices of these little pieces is truly a steal, not to mention for a great cause. My contribution, titled “Alice Cries”, a study for an Alice in Wonderland piece, was painted in acrylic and is 7″ x 9″, pictured here. And if you are not already familiar with Spur Design, Joyce Hessleberth and Dave Plunkert run an amazing design business and they are accomplished illustrators as well.

My painting for  Nucleus Gallery’s 5th Anniversary show, “The Maze, She Breathes” was accepted into Communication Arts’ Illustration Annual. The issue hits newsstands in the Summer, and always includes an inspiring mix of great commercial and Gallery art.  This piece is also now available as a fine art print through Gallery Nucleus!

I’m thrilled to be included in this gorgeous book of illustration printed by Taschen.
